Como esse Quilombo se formou
O primeiro encontro do Coletivo aconteceu no 6 de setembro de 2006. O propósito imediato da reunião era a elaboração de um projeto para concorrer ao Edital Capoeira Viva 2006. Estavam presentes nesse primeiro momento 6 angoleiras: Alessandra Carvalho, Viviane Malheiro, Ana Margarida, Mariola López, Renata Gomes Loureiro e Fernanda Cavol. Depois desse primeiro encontro, nos reunimos uma vez por semana ou a cada quinze dias para discutir o nosso projeto, que planejava uma série de atividades a serem realizadas com motivo do dia 8 de março, Dia Internacional da Mulher, de 2007. Nosso projeto não foi contemplado, mas mesmo assim continuamos nos reunindo para organizar a nossa participação nos "16 Dias de ativismo pelo fim da violência contra as mulheres" em Porto Alegre, entre os dias 25 de novembro e 10 de dezembro de 2006. Nas nossas reuniões também começamos a trocar experiências e vivências dentro da capoeira, tocamos e cantamos juntas, treinamos ao ar livre e conversamos sobre a possibilidade de criar um movimento feminino de angoleiras, convidando outras capoeiristas, para promover uma cultura de paz e igualdade nas relações de gênero dentro da capoeira, assim como também dar visibilidade ao trabalho das angoleiras e apoiar as suas iniciativas. Atualmente, as angoleiras que organizam as atividades do Coletivo e convocam as reuniões são: Ana Margarida, Ana Paula Stock, Fabiane Werhli, Fernanda Cavol, Giesele Flores, Ivânia Kunzler, Mari Verri, Mariola López e Renata Gomes Loureiro. Capoeiristas que compõem 4 grupos de Porto Alegre, sendo que algumas integrantes se mudaram do RS, mas continuam participando das discussões e representando o Coletivo nas suas regiões.
